Home Improvement Big Time!

This week was a huge stepping stone for the process of our home to be! Our families and us spent about 9 hours working on fixing up our home just today! Let's see to name a few things those lovely people helped us do... My mom almost single handedly painted the whole house and it looks amazing! We got a door frame up and painted a couple shutters, nailed some wood up that was falling, painted a rocking chair, got a door put on our bedroom, brought a new bookshelf in, fixed the dryer, put in a can light over the sink, sealed and cleaned the freezer, stopped the toilet licking problem, painted and touched up the kitchens new wall color, created a movie room, installed a little alarm system, cut down a tree, put up a breakfast bar and that's just this week! Garrett and I couldn't be more blessed with amazing parents who are ready and willing to help us out! We are getting so excited to have a place that will be OUR home!

We Registered!

We really had fun picking out things for our new lives together! We registered at Target! It's going to be so fun to have our own place and our favorite things from our favorite people! We got to go around the whole store with a red scanner... and this is a list of the things we picked out.

My amazing Birthday Morning!

This morning I woke up to garretts ring tone and he asked me if I wanted to go out to breakfast with him because that's one of my favorite things to do. I of course said yes and rushed out the door to meet him. However when I got out side there was a lot more than I expected! There were two dozen long stemmed red roses laying in my driveway in the shape of a 20 for my Birthday! And a little note written in chalk! It was amazing! How special he makes me feel!!! It was soooo awesome!

Fixen it up : )

The past couple days we have been spending time fixing up our new home... The biggest things we have got down have been pressure washing and painted our deck as well as lifting it up to the front door. The improvement is amazing! What's also amazing is garrett has been repairing our fence. Here is the before his hard work and after...
I have been pressure washing too but you can't see that in these pictures : ) We are having so much fun seeing what we can do when we work hard together. It's great!

Well we have an amazing fridge and a brand new microwave from some ridiculously amazing people! Thank you John, Dave and Mary Kay!!! We are excited our kitchen is looking better and better! Can't wait to be able to use all of it!

A trip for TWO

I don't even know what to say! We are so excited and our Family is way beyond amazing! Let me tell the whole story... Garrett and I were ready to work for Flash Photo and arrived at our shooting destination only to be told that the job had canceled. My dad however invited us out to dinner so we head to Elenitas one of our absolute favorite Mexican restaurants. We take our time getting there because mom was going to meet us and we figured it would take her a couple min to arrive. So we walk in the restaurant and there sitting all together is our WHOLE FAMILY! Our parents and all our grandparents and my aunt yell SURPRISE! We both had know clue of what was happening. It was our engagement party with a huge gift from the whole family a HONEYMOON! Not just any trip but a once in a lifetime vacation... 7 days in Cancun at a resort called Le Meridien! They had pictures for us and plane tickets with our names on them! Even a Mexican piñata with spending money! It's still unfathomable to believe all this will happen! Our family can not be thanked enough!!! This gift is unbelievable!!!

I have Bridesmaids!!! I asked all my girls yesterday by taking them some of my favorite flowers... I now have 4 amazing girls to accompany me on my wedding day!

The date is set! Our pastor has it reserved and we booked the church! Reserve that day everybody!!! 128 days to go! YEAH!!!

It's official!

You know how every little girl dreams of the day she gets to wear the huge gorgeous white dress! It is actually happening! Mom and I along with a couple other amazing people spent a little less than 48 hours and without looking too hard found the absolute perfect dress. I couldn't be more thankful and excited! I can't thank my parents enough for all the generous support and encouragement they are doing to make this day so special!!! I'm so excited! It's actually happening! We set the date and I now have a dress on it's way! I'm so excited! (i also found this pretty cute dress for bridesmade dresses... I like the cut alot. We'll see what happens!)

Very first time dress shopping!

Mom and I went dress shopping today! We went to two places in Springfield and my goodness I would be happy with pretty much every dress I tried on! They were all beautiful in there own totally different way. We are going up tomorrow to Lebonan to meet with the Family to try and narrow it down... or add to. Hopefully we will find the perfect one!

WE ARE ENGAGED!

It's been twelve days now! How did it happen? Garrett invited me out to dinner. I had been wanting to dress up fancy with him for a date for months. It seemed like he had finally liked the idea. So I put on a dress and was so happy when my handsome boy showed up at my door. Mom took some pictures of us (which is perfectly normal) But we headed of to Big Ceader for dinner. Not so used to that for sure! Earlier in the day I garrett called me and let me look at the menu online so I could think and figure out what I wanted to order. We had an appetizer called HOUSE SMOKED ROCKBRIDGE TROUT it came with Avocado, Caper Berries, Mixed Field Greens, Horseradish Cheese, Lavosh... to much information probably but it was good. I can't quite remember what we each ordered for dinner but they were different kinds of pasta. We had a gorgeous view and I enjoyed every bit of doing something special and all dressed up. During dinner Garrett and I added up how many days we had been dating and we talked about some of our favorite times most crazy times and it was really fun. Well, we got done eating our amazing dinner and garrett had this great idea that we should take a walk. Being Shelly Cain we didn't get to far before we were stopped and taking pictures. (we were all dressed up right) : ) well we eventually got back to our walk. It was absolutely beautiful there was this bridge overlooking the lake as the sun was setting we stopped and watched... (I get butterflies still) Garrett at that perfect place got down on his knee pulled out a little box and opened it slowly... saying something like on this sixhudreath and something something day of being together with you... Shelly Victoria Cain will you marry me? ? ? and I at this point balling said YES YES YES YES YES! (later he asked me if I even said yes) YES of course! So he put the gorgeous perfect ring on my finger and it was completely hard to believe it was happening! We are both so so excited about this time in our lives and know that God has made all of this come together in His perfect timing and will continue to. Please be praying for us as we seek His will and love each other with our lives.
